Built
to meet or exceed military and underground mining equipment specifications, all ZENA
welders are ultra-compact, producing more power for a given size without sacrificing
reliability or performance in any way. Compact sizing also makes installation/conversion
relatively easy.
A
unique patented solid-state control system allows the operator to precisely control
welding current from fingertip
controls built into our electrode holder.
There is no need to vary engine speed to control welding power, nor does the operator
have to go back and forth between the vehicle and the work site to make adjustments
to the equipment
For
operator safety, power IS NOT supplied to the electrode holder UNLESS the operator
depresses and holds a push-button safety control. Don't try changing welding rods
and/or welding while standing in a pool of water with any other stick welder. It
can be very uncomfortable and very unsafe -- with the ZENA system, it's a snap!
Welder
output is also ELECTRICALLY
ISOLATED
from both the vehicle in which it is installed and earth ground. Weld safely in reverse
or standard polarity without any chance of damage to delicate electrical components.
Usually
the ZENA mobile welding system is installed to work with a vehicle's existing electrical
system. However, the ZENA power generating unit can replace
the vehicle's existing alternator.
Operating (when not welding) as a high current power source that outperforms any
stock alternator.

Welding Characteristics
ZENA
welders produce a very high frequency
pulsating DC output
in both standard and reverse polarity modes and produces an extraordinarily
fine bead and a welding joint with better appearance and less impurities than other
DC stick welders. Further, when compared with the welding performance of other DC
welders, the ZENA mobile welding system provides greatly
increased welding efficiency
(arc temperature and penetration). Simply stated, a 150 amp output from the ZENA
system is functionally equivalent to 180 amps, or more, from an ordinary welder!
Mobile
Welder Models for Every Application
- All
ZENA welders are rated for 100%
duty cycle operation.
- Models
range from our popular 150 amp welder (the perfect choice if you typically use 1/8”
rods and do not need to use rods larger than 5/32”), to our 200 amp welder (1/16"
to 5/16" rods), 300 amp welder, 400 amp welder, 450 amp welder, and 600 amp
welder. All models are available for use with existing 12 or 24V electrical systems
and (when welding) use from 1/4 to a maximum of 6 amps of electrical power.
- Larger
models produce sufficient power for heavy duty welding jobs, including air gouging.
However, the larger models may not fit into small vehicles, but will fit into larger
tractors, loaders, and trucks (3/4 ton+).
- All
ZENA welders are compatible with all types of AC or DC welding rods.
- All
ZENA welding power generators can replace an existing vehicle alternator (or function
as a quick
charger)
when retrofitted with an external voltage regulator (or purchased with a built-in
voltage regulator).
- High
quality 20 foot long welding cables are standard equipment on all models, and longer
length cables (from 30 to over 200 feet) are available on a custom order basis.
- ZENA
welding power generators can even be adapted to provide
power for MIG and TIG welding applications.

hydraulic
drive welders
are perfect for use on modern service vehicles, farm, and construction equipment.
Models include second generation systems designed specifically for retrofit to man
lifts and other specialty vehicles used in the incredibly harsh conditions suffered
by rental equipment and on-site construction. These second generation hydraulic welders
require no routine maintenance whatsoever and have a design service life longer than
that of the equipment in which they are installed. A service life so long that we
expect them to be refitted to new equipment rather than retired with the equipment
to which they are originally installed.
- As
noted previously, our Backpak
welder
destroys all conventional stereotypes about how large commercial engine driven welding
equipment has to be. At 65 lb., this fantastic piece of equipment out performs
welding rigs that would overload a small truck. You can literally take and use
this welder anywhere!
- And
our PTO
drive welders
can be used on any farm tractor with a standard 3-point hitch and 540 RPM PTO.
