Welder "Upgrade" Information
The MW150 welder (the subject of this auction) is our basic 150A, 100%
duty welder which uses a clockwise rotating generator and it is most typically used
for tractor, stand-alone engine, and marine applications.
However,
we have ten different 150 Amp welder packages. The MW150, MW150B, MW150K,
MW150BK. MW150KD, MW150BKD, MW150KB, MW150BKB. MW150KBD,
and the MW150BKBD.
All
feature our basic 150A 100% duty cycle DC welding system, and all come standard with
20 ft. long welding/control cables. These models differ in the accessories which
are included in addition to the basic welding system and as to the type of welding
power generator used in the system -- the more compact unidirectional model and the
slightly larger (and a slightly heavier duty) bidirectional model.
NOTE
that these accessories included in the models numbers ending in K, KD, KB, and KBD
are not required to use the MW150 welder. Their purpose is to add convenience and/or
to simplify installation.
NOTE that for most small engine installations the finished
size of the welder that you build will be smaller if the bidirectional version (MW150B)
of the welding system is used.
The

As
noted above the bidirectional model is preferred where the benefits of bidirectional
operation yields benefits to the installer.
Frequently,
however, individuals installing and using the MW150 or MW150B welder choose to add
one, or more, accessories. This is particularly true when the welder is going to
be used commercially -- or in an automotive application. The MW150K, MW150BK,
MW150BKB, and MW150KB were created to address these sorts of welding system
installations.
The MW150K includes a number of extra items frequently purchased with welders
which are being installed into trucks, 4x4's, or other vehicles (particularly
vehicles that will be used for commercial welding) --
- the
model ASC1 automatic engine speed control,
- an
A300 Pivot Bracket,
- an
A210 Extension Bracket, and
- a
TBUCK tensioning bracket assembly.
The
MW150KB is identical to the MW150K except that it also includes our
BJ150.4 cable extension/quick disconnect accessory.
The
MW150BK and MW150BKB substiture a bidirectional rotation generator
for the standard unidirectional model.
If
you win this auction, you may upgrade your welder to a MW150B configuration for an
additioinal $100.
If you wish to upgrade your MW150 to a MW150K, you may do so for an aditional $235.
If
you wish to upgrade your MW150 to a MW150K, you may do so for an aditional $235.
NOTE
1:
Two variants on the MW150K and the MW150KB also exist, the MW150KD and the MW150KDB
which feature different automatic speed controls which are used in some diesel truck
installations. Upgrading to either model of diesel truck kit, increases the upgrade
cost by an additional $135.
NOTE
2:
If you are interested in upgrading your purchase to a MW200 - 200A, 100% duty cycle
welder -- the up charge is $350.
